Ingredients
1 L&B Turkey Brining Blend
1 gallon cool water
1 10-20 pound turkey, neck and giblets removed
2 cups brown sugar
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: 1 L&B heavy-duty brining bag
Large pot, roasting pan or extra-large bowl
Directions
  1. In a large, heavy stockpot, combine one 16-ounce bottle of L&B Brining Blend, 2 cups of brown sugar and 1 gallon water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until salt is dissolved, 3-5 minutes.
  3. Cool completely.
  4. Place brining bag inside a large pot, roasting pan or bowl to guard against spills and place turkey inside bag.
  5. Carefully pour brining liquid into bag. If necessary, add more water as needed to cover turkey completely.
  6. Squeeze out excess air and seal tightly.
  7. Refrigerate for 8 to 24 hours.
  8. For best results, turn the turkey every 3 to 6 hours, so it brines evenly.
  9. After at least 8 hours, remove the turkey from the brine.
  10. Drain off excess liquid and rinse thoroughly under cool water.
  11. Pat turkey dry inside and out with paper towels or let it sit in the refrigerator for an hour.
  12. Roast turkey as usual. Enjoy!
