¾ cup hot chocolate mix of your choice
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
1 ½ tablespoons brandy or Irish whiskey (optional)
Whipped cream, for topping
Directions
- In a 2 ½-quart saucepan, combine milk, hot chocolate mix, cayenne pepper and salt over medium heat.
- Heat mixture, stirring to dissolve hot chocolate mix, until steaming hot. Do not boil.
- Stir in alcohol, if desired.
- Divide hot chocolate among 4 mugs and top each with a large dollop of whipped cream.
