Hamburgers 'N Wild Rice

  • 1 pound Lean ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked wild rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns
Extend ground beef with the "caviar" of grains!


  1. In large bowl, combine ground beef, wild rice, onion, salt and pepper. Shape into 6 hamburger patties. Using direct heat cooking method, arrange patties on grill 4-5 inches from medium-hot coals. Grill, covered, until desired doneness (4-6 minutes per side). Serve immediately on buns.

Chef’s tip

To prepare 1 cup cooked wild rice, rinse 1/3 cup uncooked wild rice; drain. Bring rice, 1 1/3 cups water and 1/4 teaspoon salt to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until tender (about 40 minutes).
