Prep Time

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 Tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepepr
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 package dumpling or gyoza wrappers
  • 1 Tbsp canola oil per pan of dumplings
  • 1/4 cup water

Dipping Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, green onion, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, shredded cabbage, salt, and pepper.

  2. To assemble the dumplings, place a teaspoon of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Use your finger to spread a small amount of water onto half of the exposed dumpling wrapper.

  3. Fold the dumpling in half and use the thumb of your non-dominant hand to pinch the dough while folding with the forefinger of your dominant hand (it's a learning curve but they will taste good regardless of the shape). Just make sure the dumplings are well sealed.

  4. Add oil to a pan heated on medium-high and once warmed, sear dumplings for a couple minutes to achieve their signature crispy bottom. Then add water and a lid, steaming for about 5 minutes.

  5. Combine ingredients for the sauce and serve with finished dumplings. Garnish with sliced scallions and enjoy!
