A traditional Scandinavian favorite.
Place ring of sausage in buttered 9x9 inch baking pan. Brush top of sausage with melted butter. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 325 F oven until cooked through (50-55 minutes).
Pierce sausage in 2-3 places with tines of fork. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large skillet. Saute sausage over medium heat until browned on both sides (8-10 minutes total). Fill skillet with water 1/2 inch deep; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until cooked through (20-30 minutes).
