Turkey Legs and Thighs

Cooking bags or foil...ideal for cooking.

Prep Time


Plain Roasted:

  1. Brush turkey legs or thighs with butter, sprinkle with salt, pepper, thyme, sage and/or poultry seasonings. Place in cooking bag (follow directions on box) or on square of heavy foil (double fold top and sides of foil). Place in pan in 350 F oven until tender (2-2 1/2 hours). Open bag or foil, brush with butter, return to oven, uncovered, 15-20 minutes (optional).

Roasted with Stuffing:

  1. Same as above except spoon about 4 cups bread stuffing (your favorite or 1 (8 ounce) package stuffing mix, made according to package directions) under turkey legs or thighs.

Oven Barbecued:

  1. Follow directions for Plain Roasted (above) except omit butter and seasonings. Pour 1 cup barbecue sauce (your own favorite or ready to use bottled sauce) over turkey legs or thighs. Serve with additional barbecue sauce.
