Wild Rice Accompaniment

An oven method.

  • 1 cup uncooked wild rice
  • 1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds or water chesnuts
  • 3 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 cup Butter


  1. Rinse wild rice in strainer under running water or in bowl of water; drain. In 2 quart casserole, combine rice, mushrooms, onions and almonds. Stir in broth; dot with butter. Bake, covered, in a preheated 325 degree oven until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed (about 1 1/2 hours).
