Slow-Cooker Brats and Beans
family-friendly meal made easy in the slow cooker!
Preparation time: 4 hours and 15 minutes, including slow
- 2 (28-ounce) cans baked
- 8 bratwursts
- ½ cup Lunds &
Byerlys Bar-B-Q Sauce
- ½ cup of your favorite
- Lunds & Byerlys Bakery
- Cheddar cheese
Spray a 6-quart slow
cooker with cooking spray to make cleanup easier. Add baked beans. Place brats
over beans. Mix barbecue sauce with your favorite beer and pour over brats.
Cook on low heat for three to four hours.
Turn broiler on.
Place buns in a baking dish and fill each one with one bratwurst and a scoop of
beans. Top with shredded cheddar and place in oven until cheese is melted and
bubbling. Remove from oven, scoop onto plates and serve.
Extras: To the slow cooking mixture, feel free to add a squirt of mustard
and/or sriracha sauce, a pinch of cumin, a spoonful of brown sugar or maple
syrup, or some crumbled cooked bacon; for an adult version, add a shot of
