Rainier Fruit and Lunds & Byerlys Donates 5000 Pairs of Socks to St. Stephens

WHO/WHAT:  National fruit grower Rainier Fruit joined forces with Lunds & Byerlys and Hanes for a charity sock drive during the holidays and thanks to in-store pear sales – raised contributing funds to donate 5000 pairs of socks to St. Stephens of Minneapolis.

LOCAL INFO: St. Stephens Human Services began their work in the 1960’s and works to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness achieve permanent and affordable housing. Their work includes street outreach, shelter and housing programs. Thanks to their work St. Stephens serves nearly 2000 adults and 600+ families each year.

There are approximately 5500 chronically homeless individuals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and even more local families struggle to meet all their basic living needs which put them at risk of homelessness and other issues including health problems, food insecurity and more.
