Quick & Easy Rice Bowl

This is a recipe you’ll want to keep in your back pocket. It’s the perfect meal when you’re tired and short on time and hungry family members besiege you with the age-old question, “What’s for dinner?”

Bowl dinners are always filling and delicious, and this one is no different. It’s packed with creamy avocado, umami-rich tomatoes, salty tamari and crunchy sesame seeds. We dialed up the easiness factor by using ready-to-heat brown rice so you can keep your kitchen time to a minimum.

Pair it with an L&B Sesame Kale Salad or another fresh salad from our deli for a healthy, complete meal in just a few minutes. If you’re looking for more protein, toss in some L&B Ready to Heat Pulled Chicken. Voila! Dinner is served.

1 7- to 8-ounce pouch (approximately 1½ cups) organic ready-to-heat brown rice or whole grains
2 teaspoons L&B Extra Virgin Olive Oil
⅓ cup sliced avocado
½ cup diced tomato
¼ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoons tamari soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame seeds


  1. Heat rice according to package instructions and divide between two bowls.
  2. Divide all remaining ingredients between the bowls and enjoy!
