Herb Infused Pork Chops with Apple Glaze

Ingredients

  • Pork Chops
  • 2 Pork Chops, thick cut
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Sage
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil , (choose something with a high smoke point such as canola or grapeseed oil)
  • Apple Glaze
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large Honeycrisp apple, diced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Thyme leaves

These delicious, juicy pork chops are paired with an aromatic apple glaze. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of autumn!

Directions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.

  2. Place a pan over high heat and add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and sear them on all sides until golden (about 2-3 minutes per side).

  3. Add the butter, sage, rosemary, thyme and crushed garlic to the pan. Spoon the foaming butter mixture over the pork chops to infuse them with the herb flavor. Remove from the heat when the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145 F in the center.

  4. Allow the pork chops to rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.

  5. To make the glaze, melt the butter over medium-high heat until lightly browned. Add the apples and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until the apples are soft and caramelized. Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, pepper and fresh thyme; stir to combine. 

  6. Spoon the glaze over the cooked pork chops and garnish with fresh parsley.
