Brown Butter Frosting

The rich, nutty flavor of browned butter adds a wonderful depth of flavor to this frosting! The best part: you can make this irresistible frosting in about 15 minutes.

Makes 2 cups of frosting
Preparation time: 30 minutes

½ cup butter (1 stick)
3 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3-5 tablespoons whole milk


  1. Melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring constantly, 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat when butter is amber in color with a nutty aroma.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together powdered sugar, vanilla and brown butter. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, and beat until smooth and creamy. Frost cupcakes, cake or cookies as desired.
