Ingredients

  • 1 package L&B Gyro Meat, (available in the deli)
  • Pita bread
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Crumbled feta
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • Red onion, sliced
  • Hummus
  • Homemade Tzatziki-Inspired Sauce
  • 1 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup Grated cucumber, excess liquid squeezed out
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 2-3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

A simple, crowd-pleasing way to add delicious Greek-inspired flavors to your dinner rotation.

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 F. Add gyro meat to a baking sheet and place in the oven to heat through, about 5-10 minutes. Add pita bread to a baking sheet and place in the oven to warm, about 5 minutes. 

  2. To make the Tzatziki-inspired sauce, combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  3. To assemble the gyros, start with a warm pita, add gyro meat and the toppings of your choice. Ideas include hummus, sliced red onions, sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, crumbled feta and the homemade Tzatziki-inspired sauce.
