
Cider Pulled Pork with Cider BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- For the pork
- 3-4 pound pork shoulder
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- For the cider BBQ sauce
- ½ cup apple cider
- ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
- 2 cups your favorite store-bought barbecue sauce
- For the coleslaw
- 14 ounce bag coleslaw mix
- ½ cup apple cider
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoons Salt
Directions
- Place sliced onions on bottom of slow cooker.
- Set pork shoulder on top of onions.
- In small bowl, combine cider, cinnamon, garlic powder and salt. Pour over pork.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours, until pork easily shreds.
- Combine cider, cinnamon and barbecue sauce in small saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a simmer and let cook 10-15 minutes, until mixture has reduced to the consistency of barbecue sauce.
- Combine all coleslaw ingredients and mix well.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Can be made up to one day in advance.
