Happy hour recommendation: Persimmons
Ever wanted to try a persimmon? They’re in season now, so here’s your chance. Look for cinnamon persimmons, aka percinnamons, in our produce department, named for the dark speckles found inside the fruit and its extra-sweet taste.
Ripen your cinnamon persimmon at room temperature until it is soft to the touch. Then just rinse it off and slice it up!
Here’s a persimmon appetizer idea that looks impressive but is really quite easy to put together:
- Persimmon slices
Layer all ingredients on slices of ciabatta bread (look for it in our bakery). You can find cinnamon persimmons and arugula in our produce department. Look for the prosciutto and Brie in our deli.
Serve with a Pinot Blanc or Viognier. Delicious!
