Appetizer idea: Caprese bites
Caprese salad is a traditional Italian appetizer made up of fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Its bright colors are said to represent the colors of the Italian flag.
For your next gathering, give your guests bite-sized versions of this popular salad. Here’s what you’ll need:
- NatureSweet Cherub tomatoes, available in our produce section
- Basil, available in our produce section
- Mozzarella, available in our deli
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil and balsamic vinegar (optional)
On each skewer or toothpick, add a mozzarella ball, a basil leaf and a cherry tomato. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping.
Delicious with an Albariño wine.
